From March 19-23, 2018, RSRP conducted a one-week workshop on Shielding Calculation in Industrial Radiological Applications in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The recipient was the National Energy Commission (CNE) as the country Regulatory Authority. RSRP visited the Republic of Congo in the capital, Brazzaville, from March 5-7, 2018. An existing “nuclear” law provides legal authority over import and export, transport and storage and medical uses of radiation sources to the Ministry of Mines and Geology. RSRP visited ANR during February 27-March 2, 2018 to discuss the status of the development of the regulatory body and to identify regulatory priorities that can be supported by the NRC/RSRP program. In a continuing effort to support IAEA activities John Kinneman of AdSTM, Inc. participated as a member expert of an IAEA team performing an Advisory Mission related to the National Regulatory Infrastructure for Radiation Safety in the Republic of Mozambique during January 28 – February 2, 2018. On February 19, the RSRP program visited Dominican Republic regulator (at CNE) to discuss new and ongoing RSRP activities and the establishment of the Radiation Protection Program at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU).
