ARIS 1.5 Training in Jamaica, Development of National Registry of Radiation Sources

RSRP provided training to Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) staff in Kingston, Jamaica during September 16 - 20, 2013 on the development of the National Registry of radiation sources, x-ray generators, and associated devices. The RSRP instructor installed Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS 1.5) that contains RASOD (sources database), AUTHORIZATION (licensee database) and LICENSEE (facility database) software. Hands-on training was provided to BSJ staff on inventorying process, ARIS usage and data entry. Training was delivered by Grigol Basilia of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia. Software was developed and is maintained by Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of Armenia (N&RSC). During the meeting, Sergey Katsenelenbogen (AdSTM) discussed with Junior Gordon (Director of Engineering Division at BSJ) the nation-wide inventory and national registry development project. This effort is planned to commence this year.
