RSRP Installs Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS) Software in the Ivory Coast

From 8 to 12 October 2018, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) visited the Radiation Protection Authority, Nuclear Safety and Security (ARSN) of The Republique de Côte d'Ivoire. Mr. Grigol Basilia, on behalf of the RSRP, met with management and staff of ARSN, installed the Advance Regulatory Information System (ARIS) software on the computer purchased for them by the RSRP, provided training in the use of ARIS, particularly the RASOD module, and trained the ARSN staff on the process for conducting an national inventory of radiation sources and creating a national registry using the RASOD module. Ten members of the ARSN technical staff participated in the training. ARSN will begin Phase 1 of the inventory process in the first region of the country pending approval of a Task Order that is currently in review.
