On May 27, 2021, the US NRC Radiation Source Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) delivered a virtual training seminar titled, “Introduction to Radiation Physics and Radiation Protection Principles” for Arab Network of Nuclear Regulators (ANNuR) member countries. During this two-hour seminar, RSRP trainers covered the following topics: basic Radiation Physics concepts, the biological effects of radiation, considerations for developing regulatory limits, and basic radiation safety practices for protecting workers/public (external radiation safety controls and basic contamination controls). More than one hundred (100) regulatory staff and other professionals from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen participated in the activity.
