The US NRC Radiation Source Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) delivered a virtual training seminar for Latin American countries on “Overview of Cyclotron PET Licensing Process”. The seminar was conducted in two sessions, on August 24 & 25, 2020; with each session lasting approximately 2 hours. The seminar provided an overview of the production of PET radioactive material licensing including, PET radiopharmaceutical materials to be considered for the licensing of PET facilities, safety requirements for the design and construction of PET facilities and the principles of shielding and other radiation protection safety measures. Twenty-five (25) regulatory staff from Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and the U.S. attended the seminar.
