From 2 to 6 December 2019, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) visited the Ethiopian Radiation Protection Authority (ERPA) of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Mr. Grigol Basilia, on behalf of the RSRP, met with management and staff of ERPA, installed the Advance Regulatory Information System (ARIS) software, provided training in the use of ARIS, particularly the Radiation Sources Database (RASOD) module, and trained the ERPA staff on the process for conducting a national inventory of radiation sources and creating a national registry using the RASOD module.
