RSRP Visits Georgia and Armenia to discuss further RSRP cooperation

From January 21st to 25th, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AdSTM traveled to the Republic of Georgia and Armenia to meet with officials of the Agency for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (ANRS) and the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA) under the auspices of the RSRP. In Georgia, future cooperation activities related to regulatory law development were discussed, and two new Task Orders were signed to support ANRS activities aimed at meeting International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recommendations from their 2018 International Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) Mission. In Armenia, short and medium term RSRP activities were discussed with ANRA and its technical support organization, the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NRSC). Future cooperation with ANRA under the RSRP will be focused on radiation safety training, and regulatory development.
