The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Partnership for Uranium Recovery Regulation (PURR) and the Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) programs conducted a consultation meeting with the officials from the Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy (IPEN) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines, in Orlando FL, USA, from September 30 to October 2, 2019. The objective was to review the advances of Peru in developing its uranium recovery regulatory infrastructure. Daniel Gillen, from AdSTM, provided an overview of the U.S. regulatory structure for the practice and provided suggestions to the Peruvian representatives for further improvements.
