May 18th, 2019 —

From May 13-17, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) provided radiation safety training in Cote D’Ivoire. This activity was in preparation to begin a radioactive sources inventory project in the country. The Radiation Protection, Nuclear Safety and Security Authority also received training on the use of the Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS), a software package to facilitate the inventory project. Approaches to radioactive source and generator data collection were also discussed. RSRP representatives also accompanied visits to some facilities to collect information for the national inventory.
