From June 13-17, 2016, the RSRP conducted a one-week workshop in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to discuss Design and Shielding Calculation in Medical Radiological Facilities. This is part of the undergoing collaboration with the Regulatory Authority of Dominican Republic aiming to strengthen Radiation Protection in the country. From March 13-18 2016, RSRP provided training on the Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS 2.2) to the Zambian radiation Protection Authority (RPA). The primary objectives were the installation of the SQL-based ARIS 2.2 software, training for all four modules of software (Licensee, RASOD, Authorization, Inspection), and an introduction to the report system. Training sessions were conducted for each module, and some more difficult exercises were conducted covering the integration between all ARIS modules. From May 10 -12, 2016, AdSTM held a consultation with IBTEN, the nuclear regulatory authority in Bolivia. The consultation was conducted as part of the Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP). The consultation took place at the IBTEN offices located in La Paz, Bolivia. Dr. Charles L. A newly formed Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety (an Independent Regulatory Body since January 4, 2016) signed on February 12, 2016 the first agreement with the RSRP to design and implement a web-site that covers ANRS activities. These web pages will reside at the Ministry of Environment web site. Vasil Gedevanishvili, head of the ANRS, and Sergey Katsenelenbogen for RSRN signed the agreement. From January 26th to 28th, 2016, RSRP upgraded the ARIS system at the Energy Division (DGE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Guatemala City. ARIS was upgraded from version 1.5 to version 2.2. Training to DGE staff was provided on the use of the new INSPECTION module, which is now available in ARISv2.2. Several exercises were developed with current inspections data in order to demonstrate the integrated regulatory work with the ARIS system.
